what is the harper haus process?

phase 1

  • A phone or in person consultation is the first step of the process. A successful project starts with clear communication to ensure your needs are met. this consult will include an overview of the existing spaces, your goals for the project, a rough timeline for completion, and your estimated budget.

  • Based on our consultation, we will present you with a personalized Interior Design agreement that will outline the project scope and design fees. Upon approval of the agreement and payment of the design fee retainer we will begin your project!

  • Next, we schedule a site visit to take measurements and photos of the space. We will use this information to develop plans, elevations, and details for the accuracy of your project.

  • This is where we inspire you with visual design concepts to springboard our presentation that begins in phase 2

phase 2

  • This is the fun part! The in person final presentation meeting allows you to visualize what the finished space will look like. This is also where we review the budget in detail. The presentation will include the following:

    • Color scheme

    • All furnishings

    • Working drawings as needed

    • Fabrics + finish sample review

    • Detailed budget breakdown

  • Once the presentation has been approved and retainer has been given, we place orders. Receiving and tracking is monitored until the time of installation.

  • All items are shipped directly to our local warehouse and inspected for quality in preparation for the big installation day. We do not ship any product to a residential address.

phase 3

  • This is when the vision comes to life! We coordinate all trade people and schedule the delivery of your furniture. We scoot you out of your home for the day so we can style and finesse your space for the big reveal!

  • Happy dance! This is the moment you have been waiting for! Your space is finished, and we cannot wait to walk through your new COMPLETE space! Cheers!

  • Have you ever bought a piece of furniture that looked so good in the store, but wasn’t right when you got it home or painted three of four times trying to find the right color palette? Hiring a designer will help you avoid costly mistakes and increase the value of your home. A designer is going to know how to get the best value out of what you spend. We are also able to get you better price than retail pricing on your furniture!

  • Just like hiring a designer will benefit you financially, a designer will also save you on time. A designer already has a trained sense of what needs to be done, when to schedule, and able to anticipate any obstacles that may come up. Harper Haus Interiors takes pride in simplifying the process for our clients and makes the process efficient, easy, and enjoyable.

  • When you hire a trained designer, you get an immediate plan of action for your space, creative solutions, and opportunities in your home. Harper Haus creates beautiful visual presentations for our clients to see exactly how their home will look which creates a comfort prior to large purchases.

  • It’s difficult to find good resources. Designers work in the world of home improvement, so they’re going to have reliable connections. Hiring a designer will help your easily find an electrician, plumber, and/or contractor that you can trust. Harper Haus also travels regularly to furniture shows to keep up to date on fresh new furniture and accessories that are unique to our clients. With these resources, an interior designer will create a space for your that look polished and customized.

  • We do our best to give you a full cost outlook of each item, but additional costs such as storage, shipping, installation, or unexpected labor do occasionally occur.

  • We have our own crew of contractors, painters, electricians, tilers, and plumbers. We prefer to use our own trade professionals as communication, expectations, and level of work has been set.

  • This depends on the scope of the project and what is purchased. Occasionally there are delays caused by weather, vendor vacations, and other unpredictable influences that are out of our control. Once the scope of the project has been identified we will do our best to determine a realistic goal of completion.

  • Our policy is to perform one large installation of all your items. This includes all furniture and accessories purchased. Items purchased by Harper Haus Interiors go into a licensed, bonded, insured, and climate-controlled warehouse awaiting installation. It is our policy to not deliver items to client’s home directly or in multiple trips unless otherwise agreed upon. Clients are directly responsible for all shipping, storage, and delivery fees.

  • We ask that you refrain from purchasing anything on your own until the completion of the project as items may not be a fit for the design, space, or budget.

  • Increasing the scope of the project is not a problem and is simply billed or added accordingly.

  • As soon as we receive the design fee retainer we will lock in your project to our schedule. Purchased projects will be ordered only with a signed proposal and 100% deposit. Proposals for products are due within 7 days. We cannot guarantee the availability of products if payments are delayed. Invoices for time and billing wil be sent on the 1st of each month and due within 7 business days. Invoices more than 30 days past due will accrue a 5% late fee per month and all work will cease until invoice is paid.

  • Most often orders cannot be cancelled or refunded. In the event that a full refund can be attained you may cancel the order and receive a refund for the cost of the items minus the purchasing fee and any other applicable fees. You will be charged hourly for the time spent on cancelled items. Custom orders are non-refundable.
